Pathways

The Master of Professional Practice in Dietetics (MPPD) is a 30-credit, full-time, online, non-thesis gaduate degree program. Our online format allows you to take classes online at your convenience. Iowa State offers two tracks of the MPPD. The RD2B track is a graduate track for those applicants who want to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. This track meets CDR's RDN exam eligibility requirements. The RDN track is for applicants who are already RDNs and want to get a master's degree.     RD2B Track

    Continue your journey towards becoming an RDN. This track is for graduates of a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) with a DPD verification statement or those students in the process of completing their DPD. This track combines didactic coursework with supervised experiential learning to train future RDNs. Students complete a minimum of 1000 hours in experiential learning in didactic as well as during on-site supervised experiential learning rotations, which can be completed in in Iowa or anywhere in the US – where you are already established or where you would ultimately like to work.

    RDN Track

    This track is for practicing Registered Dietitian Nutritionists who are interested in earning a master's degree in dietetics in an online, non-thesis graduate program.
